old fashioned fun event {part 1}

This October we celebrated our seventh year in business with JS Design Custom and opened a letterpress division Cut & Press.  To celebrate we hosted an old fashioned fun event at the studio and shop.  Being in the business of details – the event was chalked full of paper and product details galore.  The event was also very interactive and yes, FUN!

In this post we will highlight the interactive stations as well as overall decor details.  Look for a second post with all of the additional paper and food station details.    We couldn’t of asked for better photographs – thank you to the AMAZING Autumn Burke Photography.  Debbie from Save the Date Events did a fabulous job with the planning of the event.

-A typewriter station – when guests arrived they typed their name on a nametag with an old Corona typewriter.

 -Simple flower arrangements filled the space from Bella Fiori.  The arrangements were designed inside vintage soda bottles, tea pots and bar glasses.  Vintage furniture pieces, burlap fabric and old coffee tins, trays and containers were all part of the event décor.

-Flat and pointed wooden signs were painted with black chalkboard paint and handwritten with chalk to mark the various stations.

-A photo booth was built out of plywood and covered with a striped fabric and a frame.  Various fun props and hats were available at the booth.  Each guest was photographed with a new Polaroid camera run by the amazing Karie Mclain.  Individual Polaroid pictures were then placed inside a muslin fabric bag printed with “You Ought to Be in Pictures” for guests to take home.

-Tours of the new letterpress shop were given.  Mr. Letterpresser, David Sandusky was running live demonstations on the printing and press process while printing thank you cards for guests.

The Denver Cupcake Truck and Lovely Confections Bakery were also part of the event.  Look for them in the next post with all of the chic details.
